[Tutorial] Eye Kandy Cosmetics - Purple Smoky Eye

I have another video tutorial for you lovelies. Today it's a Purple Smoky eye using Eye Kandy Cosmetics. I LOVE their Sorbet [medium Purple], the pigments are beautiful and go on super easy. The Glitters are absolutely gorgeous too. You guys should definitely check them out, pricing is decent. I found them over a year ago and I was torn going with Eye Kandy or Lit Cosmetics and guess which way I went? Yup, Eye Kandy! They are half the price of the competitor and I am really glad I went with a company that had the best price for great quality makeup. Beautiful colors and amazing quality for the right price, who wouldn't go with Eye Kandy? Don't forget to check out their Facebook page at Eye Kandy Cosmetics too! Anyway, I feel like I'm just blabbing. Check out the video below. Please don't forget to subscribe to my Youtube Channel. Thanks so much for watching!

[Tutorial] Eye Kandy Cosmetics - Gold and Brown look

I don't remember if you guys knew but I did start doing video tutorials using Eye Kandy Cosmetics. I'm super stoked that I was given this opportunity and also because I just simply love their eye shadows. Their mineral eye shadows  are fantastic, super pigmented and super duper pretty. I love their glitters too because they last seriously all day long and does NOT flake! Anyway, check out the video tutorial I did for a Gold and Brown look. I love it, it's a wearable look and using the glitters gives it such a nice pop. Hope you guys enjoy!

[Introduction] Kawaii TOKYO - Brighten Up Skincare Line

One of the girls on the Beauty Collection blogging team, Claudia [who I now consider a good friend - you can also check out her blog at I Like To Talk A Lot] introduced me to her contact with Kawaii TOKYO. He is also the contact person for Le Edge. I've seen Le Edge around and sadly have not tried it yet but have heard some awesome reviews about it. Anyway, I am super stoked to be given the chance to review some new skincare products.

Kawaii TOKYO is a beauty brand that launched in Japan to embody the essence of Tokyo's pop culture with their multi beneficial skincare products. What does the word Kawaii mean? Kawaii in the Japanese language means 'charming' and 'adorable' - which is absolutely suitable for the name of this skincare line. Kawaii TOKYO has become the first line of Japan produced skincare products to earn certification under the "Halal" standards of Islamic Law. All of Kawaii TOKYO products are certified under the Islamic Law standards of 'Halal' and FREE from animal-based ingredients and alcohol.

Kawaii TOKYO's Brighten Up skincare line was designed for women who live active lifestyles. The Brighten Up skincare line uses ingredients such as; EGF [Epidermal Growth Factor] - eliminates spots and helps stimulate skin resilience, Arbutin - prevents the formation of melanin and brightens the skin by inhibiting tyrosinase, Aldenin - to protect skin from free radical damage, and Marine Collagen - diminishes signs of aging. Not to mention the natural ingredients of fruit and plant extracts. With ingredients like this, who wouldn't want to try these products? Check out below for more info on each product that Kawaii TOKYO carries [pictures are posted under the descriptions of each product]. You won't be disappointed!

Brighten Up Pore Solution [Juicy Smoothies]
Packed with Peeling action without the use of abrasive agents. You can use this juicy peeling gel for the face and body. It has Organic acid derived from natural fruits and helps get rid of hard to remove makeup, dirt and keratin from skin pores. You can use this once or twice a week and improve the condition of your skin and it also helps conceal signs of aging. Apple scented - I'm sold! I love fruits and anything that smells fruity!

Brighten Up Spot Solution [Cupid's Arrow]
Say au revoir to damaged skin! With the lipstick-style application beauty serum and it's easy application, you can  prevent chapping and aging. With key ingredients such as; Vitamin C Derivatives - has low irritation properties that continue to function in the depth of your skin for over 24 hours, Licorice extract - gentle on skin to bolster skin-brightening powers, and Chromabright™ - proven to deliver significant photo-protective effects on human epidermal keratinocyte cell cultures, preventing the skin-damage caused by ultraviolet radiation.

Brighten Up Junsui [Blossom Foundation]
Produced by blending natural vanadium water from the mineral-rich realm of Mt. Fuji with 10 flower extracts that contain high skincare effects. With it's spray-style application, it releases a soft mist to perform a luxuriantly healing floral fragrance [Orange Flower]. The Junsui has many multi-beneficial uses. You can use this on your face and body to instill moisture in dry prone skin. It also soothes the hot skin sensation caused by ultraviolet rays. You can also use it to finish your makeup, just a light spray allows the makeup to spread easier and take nicely to your skin. Also use it to freshen up your makeup by the sebum rising to the skin surface and removed in a quickness, which then in turns tightens up loosened pores.

This makeup remover is a water-based formula that helps keep the skin moist. It has a blend of five plant derived extracts with natural essential herb oil and using it will revitalize your skin without any damage. It has a subtle sweet aroma of geranium essential oil - great to know that your face won't smell like alcohol after being cleansed!

A facial cleanser that contains beauty essence to gently revitalize fatigued skin from UV rays and other environmental stress. It removes dirt form your pores making your skin moist and supple. With it's rich cream-type wash, using only a small amount can go very far. It has 11 combined botanical herbal plant extracts that will make you one with the earth. It's also filled with the A, C and E vitamins, with this combination the vitamins interact to maximize their functions to efficiently raise anti-oxidation powers. This wash is also fragrance free!

Brighten Up Gel
With skin being constantly exposed to stress, Kawaii TOKYO has created a product that address the every day anxieties that we go through. Kawaii TOKYO's research has paved the way to the use of cutting edge technology to blend thin-film oil content into gels and instilling them with a smooth application. What's great about the Brighten Up Gel is that it's an all-in-one step for those super busy women that are always on the go. It helps tone, moisturize, brightens and energizes the skin. Brighten Up Gel comes in the Herbal Forest and Citrus Paradise.

The Wrinkle Solution [daily defense] is formulated to reduce photo-aged wrinkles in the eye areas. This is the perfect addition to your daily eye care regimen and specially blended for the delicate skin area around the eyes. Infused with Adenin an ingredient developed for use at the first signs of aging. We all hate the puffy eyed culprits, with Brighten Up Wrinkle Solution [overnight repair] it is the perfect solution for those all-night study sessions, or if you're just simply sleep deprived. With this dynamic duo, you'll have the most refreshed eyes out there!

Brighten Up UV Blocker
The Brighten Up UV Blocker [daytime resue] contains a blend of prune, bilberry, star fruit and amongst many other plant extracts that acts deep within the skin to protect it. It's light based, blocks harmful UV rays, waterproof and resistant to perspiration, which is especially designed for women on the move. The Brighten Up UV Blocker [Sun Survivor] has a blend of Vitamin C derivatives and arbutin, which gives the skin an enhanced luster. Other key ingredients are hvaluronic acid and olive squalane, which helps moisturize the skin while participating in outdoor activities.

Kawaii TOKYO products are currently available in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia... and hopefully soon in the United States! This is why I am super stoked to be in contact with a distributor because the products are not available in the United States yet. Stay tuned for reviews of Kawaii TOKYO. Check out their Facebook page and 'like' them! They also have a giveaway going on right now at Le Edge's Facebook page!

[Tutorial] Eye Kandy Cosmetics - Cotton Candy look

I had totally forgotten that I did the 'Cotton Candy' look with my Eye Kandy Cosmetics. I'm a fan of their Eye Kandy Cosmetics Facebook page and I saw them re-post my picture! It was awesome to get noticed again hehe. So now I have for you a picture tutorial of the 'Cotton Candy' look. Check it out below.

Step One:

First off, you definitely need an eyelid primer. I like to use the ELF Eyelid Primer, works pretty well. Then take your Pink and dab it onto the inner corner of your eyelid. Next take your Purple and dab that onto the mid section of your eyelid. Lastly dab your Blue onto the outer corner of your eyelid. I used my BH Cosmetics Palette for a base foundation before I add the Eye Kandy Glitters.

Don't worry about the "lines" because now you want to BLEND. As you can see in the third picture the eye shadow is all blended and this is what you want. After you're all done blending, use a neutral highlighter under your brows.

Tip: Wet your brush and then dip it into your eye shadow, this helps you pack on more color.

Step Two:

Last final steps. Take your Eye Kandy Glitter in Double Bubble [Pink] and dab it onto the inner corner of your lid. Next take your Eye Kandy Glitter in Tiny Tart [Purple] and dab that onto the mid section of your eyelid. Lastly, take your  Eye Kandy Glitter in Hard Candy [Blue] and dab that onto the outer corner of your eye lid.

Tip: I use my finger to dab on the glitters, it's so much easier to get the 'blended' look with the Eye Kandy Glitters. You also have more control of how much glitter goes on your eyelid when using your finger.

For my eye liner I used my Maybeline Stiletto liquid eye liner in this look. I also took my Eye Kandy Glitters in Black Bart with my brush and dabbed that over the eye liner to give it a softer line. For Mascara I used Cover Girl's  Nature Luxe Mousee Mascara in Very Black. Of course, don't forget to line your upper and lower water lines.

Viola! You're done. I love the Eye Kandy Glitters, and I loved doing this look because its funky and fun. Hope y'all enjoyed it! =)

Makeup Schools

I have been searching for the right makeup school for months now, but it feels like years lol. I was thinking of doing an online course at home with HEX. I know it won't have much hands on experience, but doing school from home works best with my schedule. I can do it on my own time and it's pretty affordable. What are your thoughts on an online makeup school?

Of course I keep searching everyday for a makeup school that's located close to me. I'm in San Diego, CA [north county to be exact]. All of the makeup schools that don't involve Cosmetology that I've seen are located in Los Angeles, CA -  the 2 hour drive is way too far for me. Then a good friend of mine said she was flying into Los Angeles from Boston to take a 5 day makeup course from CAMMUA. I look them up and guess what?? They have a school that's about 20 minutes away from where I live! I am super ecstatic about having an affordable school so close to home! Best of all, they have WEEKEND classes - score! Now the only thing I have to do is come up with about $2700 lol - sounds so easy right? Hopefully I can come up with it soon. I would love to FINALLY go to makeup school and get certified and build my clientele. I'll keep you guys updated about school. Wish me luck!

[Review] Tarte Cosmetics - Amazonian Clay Foundation

Tarte Cosmetics is the leader in high-performance naturals proving that glamour can be good for you. They offer the largest selection of cruelty-free beauty products infused with pure, healthy ingredients including fruit and plant extracts, vitamins, minerals, essential oils and other naturally-derived ingredients. Tarte Cosmetics truly cares about the environment and helps reduce environmental waste.

Have you guys ever surfed the tv guide to find something to watch and there was absolutely NOTHING to watch? Well, that happened to me the other day and of course my remote landed me on the QVC Channel. I think it was a total coincidence that Tarte Cosmetics was on air talking about their Amazonian Clay Foundation because I was just surfing the web looking for new foundation and powder. Crazy how things work out huh?

What is the Amazonian Clay you ask? Its a revolutionary foundation that helps reduce the appearance of pores, while also minimizing imperfections and discolorations. You can get up to 12 hours of flawless coverage with SPF 15. I know we all need some spf in our lives and what better way to get it then to have it combined in your make up.

[Review]

I was super excited and ordered Tarte's Amazonian Clay Foundation. I was looking for a foundation that was light, yet had full coverage because I do tend to get the dark circles under my eyes - so not the business. Wishful thinking, I had my fingers crossed that the Amazonian Clay Foundation was everything they said it was on TV. I guess you could say I got "suckered". I've tried tons of different powders, creams, and foundations and have yet to find something that covers really well but doesn't have that cake-y feeling to your face. I mean who wants to feel like they have makeup caked on? Being on the tanner side of the scale, it's really hard for me to match my skin tone, I usually would have to mix two to three different colors - pain in the butt if you ask me.

I was ecstatic when my package arrived 7 days early! YES 7 whole days before it was due at my house. QVC get's lots of brownie points for the fast shipping. I could not wait to try out the foundation. In my package I received 2 of Tarte's Amazonian Clay Full Covered Foundation and a big fluffy foundation brush [picture is shown above]. With a cleansed face and brush in hand, I went work on my face.

I love that this foundation has a super light feel but gives you full coverage [check out my before and after, you can see that it covers my freckles]. No cake-y feel or look at all! This is exactly what I was looking for and let's not forget the fact that it's oil-free. It is also formulated without paraben, phthalates and sodium lauryl sulfate. What I loved most about the Amazonian Clay Foundation is that you don't need to use a lot of it - score! I like that the color "tan" matches fairly close to my skin tone. I kind of wished that I would have ordered a "deep tan" as well so that I can mix the two colors and see if I can get a better outcome. Overall I really like the foundation. It does have full coverage without the cake-y feel. It feels like airbrush without the tools! I love the bamboo soft and fluffy  brush, it's amazing! Would I recommend this to my fellow beauty junkies? Absolutely!

Anniversary

So, tomorrow is mine and my husband's 10 year anniversary!! CRAZY how fast time flies! I swear, I don't know where the time went, but I love that we are still together going strong with 3 handsome boys.

How have we made it this long? Actually I really don't know LOL. We moved fairly quickly, I got pregnant at the age of 18, so we had our little family pretty young. I know, I know it's not as young as others, but hey that was young for me. Anyway, our marriage has always known it's place when we have to sacrifice and compromise on the things we want to do. We've never put a ball and chain on each other. He has his 'ME time' and I have my 'ME time' and then of course we always make time for US. It is hard, I'm not going to lie, but with 3 kids it really is hard to find time to ourselves and for us but we do it. Seriously, being married does take a lot of work. BUT you never give up on each other. We've invested 10 years of our lives and I hope to invest in 100 more, that is if I lived that long LOL. We are in this together for the long haul, through thickness and thin, sickness and health... til death do us part.

I love my husband and everything he stands for and will always be by his side no matter what happens.I am truly grateful to be married to such an amazing man.  I love that I can tell him anything and everything I want. He truly is my best friend and that's all I ever really wanted.

So, when y'all do find that special someone, hold on tight, but not too tight. Never give up on each other, work things out and make time for each other. Whether it's a date night walk out in the park, or dinner or a movie. Spending quality time with each other is what keeps the flame going.

A little sappy, I know, but it had to be said =). Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Beauty Collection

I know I haven't been blogging much lately, and most certainly much less about beauty products. I have just been super busy with the kids, and a new business adventure that I decided to pursue with It Works. On a brighter note, I am still currently active with the Beauty Collection Blog. I am part of a wonder blogging team. Check out their blog for my articles (signed by Sammie). My latest article was Makeup Tips for Your Office Holiday Party. If any of you guys are local to LA, check out their local stores! They have some amazing products and join their Facebook Page. They always have an online Facebook Party every Wednesday and have tons of giveaways and advice from feature products. Check it out! =)

Random - 3 year old Twins

So recently my twin boys, Brody and Chayse have become completely obsessed with Adele's song "Someone Like You". Let me tell you the story why. My sister's boyfriend's sister, we'll call her Miranda, who has a daughter, we'll call her Samantha (for privacy's sake), who is the same age as my boys. Anyway, Miranda sends my sister a video text of Samantha singing Adel - Someone Like You and of course she shows the boys and now that's all they want to hear when we're in the car. Don't worry I took a video of it for you all to see. Super cute and hilarious, but instead of calling it Adel's song, they call it Samantha's song.

On another random note. The other day my oldest son Markus was telling Chayse that he was the "Blue Ranger". Of course Chayse disagree's and says "No, I'm Red Ranger!". Markus continues to call Chayse the Blue Ranger and Chayse finally had enough and says "shut up Markus!" LOL! I couldn't help but laugh so hard I almost peed myself! Seriously to hear one of my 3 year old's say shut up! Cute, BUT so wrong, I had to tell him don't say that, you have to say be quiet...

I guess I'll be posting more randomness with the twins more often. They are a hoot!

New Year - 2012

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year beginning! As for me, I am just SO glad 2011 ended. Hoping that 2012 will be a better year for us, to start brand new and let go of everything negative in our lives.

Anyway, who has their New Years Resolutions written out? I do! tee hee. Of course losing weight is #1, it's always on my list and I can never be rid of it lol. I am actually on my 90 Day It Works Challenge. Hoping to lose at least 30lbs and some inches! I've already lost about 6.5" in my mid section from using the Ultimate Body Applicator. I wrapped my right side and have lost another 7"! All of this by just using the Ultimate Body Applicators. I am so stoked! Wrapping every 4th day with this amazing product. You can check out the It Works products at Sports Wraps. They also have an amazing Business Opportunity too if you guys want to check that out, email me for more info on this as well if you want (sompathb@gmail.com).

As for my other Resolutions, another being get out of debt, this one will be around for a little while as well lol. I would also love to take more trips this year, go on a cruise, be more active and just be HAPPY with what we have, and I am usually a happy person =). Life is way too short to stress the small stuff, so let's keep it moving people.

What are your New Years Resolutions??

Out with the old in with the new!

Back in November 2010, my husband was laid off from work, mind you he was our only income. So since then, our lives have been a little bit of a struggle, but who isn't struggling right? Ever since the lay off, we've just been running into the wrong people and making friends with people who don't deserve our kindness and friendship. So, on a positive note, I say OUT with the old and in with the NEW! We are moving forward with our lives, and the people who have burnt their bridges will be left in the dust.

My husband and I are good people, very giving, kind and we love our family and close friends. Hopefully the New Year will bring us some better luck, who knows maybe we'll win the lottery! HA wishful thinking I know =). Anyway, I'm not trying to give you the sob story of my life. I just want to say, even though you are going through tough times, keep the people who love you near and dear. Don't let the negativity run your lives. Life is way too short to stress over something that's not even worth a glance back at. Take the rough times as a learning lesson, I know I sure will. Being positive and taking care of yourself and your family is the best way you'll get through your tough times. Keep your heads held high and keep it moving forward, because things will get better if you let it! =)

I know this is early, but I have been swamped with work and blogging for a Beauty store, but I wanted wish everyone a Happy Holidays and a Happy New Years. . . Take Care!

Renewed

So, I know I haven't been posting much of anything on here lately, but I've just been super duper busy with my new business adventure that I haven't even had time to do much of anything. I just renewed my yearly subscription to keep my domain so I guess I should keep up with the blogging =). I know I have been horrible at this lately LOL... But I promise you I will be back soon! There has just been soooooooooo much going on lately that I've neglected my blog. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Potty Training Twin Boys

I started potty training my twin boys this week, and boy it isn't fun. I mean I can totally handle the peeing accidents, but the poopage accidents make me want to barf! LOL. But I am going to be sticking to it and hopefully get these guys out of diapers soon because we all know diapers are not cheap, especially when having to buy double the amount.

For the most part, they both have been doing okay. Chayse has gotten it down a lot better than Brody, who had about 4 peeing accidents. But as the day went on Brody seemed to catch on a little bit better. I try to get them to aim for the toilet paper in the toilet, and then when they are done we do the "pee pee dance" and flush the toilet and they both say goodbye. So overall it's been going okay. I know it will take some time for them to get use to peeing in the toilet. Hopefully they catch on sooner than later!

Transitioning

So I know I haven't been on my blog in forever and I want to apologize for my absence. Summer has just been really crazy for me with my son being home from school for 2 months and then my grandma's passing kind of threw a curb ball my way. I also wanted to say that I am transitioning this blog from beauty to and everything in my daily life. I do still have a beauty blog that I now host on Wordpress, Beautiful Inside and Out, but I haven't posted much on there either because I am now a part of the Beauty Collection blog team so I've been pretty busy with that. So be on the look out for some new content on this page.

I'm Back!

So, I've been out of commission for a little bit because my computer overheated on me. Anyway, I am back, just not fully back. Summer's here, my son's out of school so I've been busy with the kiddos. Just wanted to say hello and hope everyone has a great weekend!

Also, I will slowly be transitioning this blog into an every life blog, hence the "Story of My Life" title. Don't fret, i will still have my beauty blog up just on another platform (wordpress) at Beautiful Inside and Out. Check out the beauty stuff there =)
